Me: I just want to write a short, simple, semi-angsty vampire fic with a little sexy blood drinking.

Also me: Okay, but, what would military protocols for unexpectedly turned vampires look like in WWII? Furthermore, how would vampires fit in to the military hierarchy at all? And, on that note -
