I like this, it's written in a really vivid and interesting way. I think you should stick with the memoir style, it works really well and each scene is clearly connected to me. I get a real sense of subtle sort of personal journey throughout.

This is such a different church experience than I had coming from a poor Catholic background. I've never heard of "speaking in tongues" being viewed as good thing! For us that phrase was a bad thing across the board. It's so wild how different all the branches of Christianity can be.
