Fun with Dungeons & Dragons

So I'm working on my [community profile] intoabar story and because I'm needlessly particular in many deeply embarrassing ways, I statted out character sheets on D&D Beyond for both bard/rogue Lew and paladin Dick.

I know at least one of you plays D&D so I figured I might share the sheets here in case that's something you lot feel like you might be into. I built both characters at level 8 because it seemed like a nice "not too low, not too high" starting point. (And also because I'm joining a second D&D game in which the party characters are currently at that level and there's a very real possibility I will use Lew's build in that campaign because it turned out pretty dope.) Behold:

This is insanely cool. I love it that Lew is like, REALLY weak. Which is okay, it's not like Dick will let anyone lay a finger on his fragile, velvet-wrapped body :D

I have a feeling that Dick should be faster at walking than Nix, but I honestly can't remember which modifers affect the walking speed. I haven't played in forever and it was a much older version of D&D anyway (like... v3? v4? Fuck, I'm old).

Have I gone blind or the alignment is not specified?

... Okay, now I seriously need That Fic :D

PS. Do you know D&D Is for Nerds, the podcast by Sanspants Radio? I think you would love it.

I think you could make a good case for Dick to start off as Lawful Good and then slowly evolve into a Neutral Good (I'm not sure about Chaotic). In his memoirs he had kind of a chill attitude about his soldiers looting and there was this documentary where he definitely didn't seem too happy about the men doing "bad things" during the war, but he also didn't seem *terribly* bothered by it. Though of course it's very different to talk about this kind of things 60 years later.

I like Chaotic Neutral for Lew! Spot-on. The cool things about Neutral characters is, I think, that both Good and Evil characters can find elements in common with them. (Like, say, Dick and Speirs both liking Lew for very different reasons.)

And baby, I actually played the first time in... '03 or '04. Yep.

The podcast is really cool. I have only listened to the very first campaign (the one that starts here) and the thing is that the players are actually first-time D&D players, so they do a lot of really random and out-of-the-box stuff (while the DM is a proper DM who gets constantly frustrated at their antics). And there's a NPC who's an obese and very vindicative cat.

Please do not ever feel pressured to share anything, but DO feel pressured to stop procrastinating :D

I'm going to have to figure out what all that means eventually. I am impressed by the level of work you put into this. That is some A++ procrastination, bb.

I don't know anything about D&D but I am very intrigued and will absolutely read this.
