Fun with Dungeons & Dragons

So I'm working on my
intoabar story and because I'm needlessly particular in many deeply embarrassing ways, I statted out character sheets on D&D Beyond for both bard/rogue Lew and paladin Dick.
I know at least one of you plays D&D so I figured I might share the sheets here in case that's something you lot feel like you might be into. I built both characters at level 8 because it seemed like a nice "not too low, not too high" starting point. (And also because I'm joining a second D&D game in which the party characters are currently at that level and there's a very real possibility I will use Lew's build in that campaign because it turned out pretty dope.) I have a feeling that Dick should be faster at walking than Nix, but I honestly can't remember which modifers affect the walking speed. I haven't played in forever and it was a much older version of D&D anyway (like... v3? v4? Fuck, I'm old).
Have I gone blind or the alignment is not specified?
... Okay, now I seriously need That Fic :D
PS. Do you know D&D Is for Nerds, the podcast by Sanspants Radio? I think you would love it.

And you’re totally not old! xD I started playing with 3.5 back in...like ‘09? Maybe? And then after that there was the whole minions bullshit in 4th edition that I try my best not to remember. I don’t know that 5th edition has walking speed modifiers outside of like, difficult terrain and such, but based on Dick’s general stat block he’d probably shake out as faster to move on saving throws and what have you.
The alignments are in some weird spot on this version of the digital sheet that I can never find but I have Lew as Chaotic Neutral, and Dick currently as Lawful Good, though I feel there’s an argument to be made for Chaotic Good in his case, based on the whole “second patrol” thing and other instances where he went against the letter of the law to prioritize a value he personally felt was right.
I have never heard of this podcast but I do love liveplay D&D and will totally check it out! I’m almost through the introductory parts of the fic so I imagine I’ll invite you into the doc sometime around the weekend to start getting some feedback even if it’s not finished.
Glad you’re enjoying my supremely nerdish inclination to craft actual character sheets for this thing, haha. <33

I like Chaotic Neutral for Lew! Spot-on. The cool things about Neutral characters is, I think, that both Good and Evil characters can find elements in common with them. (Like, say, Dick and Speirs both liking Lew for very different reasons.)
And baby, I actually played the first time in... '03 or '04. Yep.
The podcast is really cool. I have only listened to the very first campaign (the one that starts here) and the thing is that the players are actually first-time D&D players, so they do a lot of really random and out-of-the-box stuff (while the DM is a proper DM who gets constantly frustrated at their antics). And there's a NPC who's an obese and very vindicative cat.
Please do not ever feel pressured to share anything, but DO feel pressured to stop procrastinating :D

You are the superior D&D queen, lol. And you know, it's funny, but in the other live-play podcast I listen to the last two character arcs have had cat characters, one of whom was a sort of mysterious force of chaos and one of which was GIANT and lived in a chasm in a magical basement, basically.
<333 I have also cued up the first episode of D&D is for Nerds to listen to on the flight to Savannah this weekend~

I am procrastinating SO GOOD. Although I've finally gotten about 3K down on my intoabar fic and it's starting to run very slightly more smoothly. Which, whether it's good or not remains to be seen but I figure that's a problem for future me.

I'm very glad you're interested, though! AND ALSO YOUR ICON MAKES MY HEART HAPPY.
