Hello there, creator!

I'm Tec, here to lay out for you a generalized list of likes and dislikes to help in your efforts to prepare a fanwork for me. First off, can I just say thank you ahead of time! I'm very excited to be a part of the fandom community and doubly so to be able to participate in exchanges and challenges where we all get to create for each other. It's super inspiring and I'm flattered and delighted that you're taking part too!

Okay! Now that the mushy stuff is over with, I'll go ahead and lay out some blanket DNWs as far as tropes/kinks go. (Most of these are even malleable, if the story is right, so if you have questions or would like clarification on any points, let me know.)

DO-NOT-WANTS

  • major focus on character death
  • non-canon/unrequested character death in general
  • graphic depictions of torture/injury
  • A/B/O
  • pregnancy/mpreg
  • non-canon child characters/kidfic
  • scat/watersports
  • slave!fic
  • infidelity
  • treating female characters as villains/ malicious hindrances to queer male romance
  • infantilazation (including daddy kink)
  • pedophilia
  • explicit non-con/rape*
  • vore
  • fat-shaming
  • degrading dirty talk (i.e.: "You're a filthy little slut" etc.)
  • somnophilia/paralysis
  • necrophilia

Most other stuff is fair game.
*Dub-con, of the flavor where a character is unsure but willing to go with it, or like, sex-pollen/drunk/etc. variety is fine, so long as there's not explicit focus on someone feeling taken advantage of.

As for what I do want to see in fic, I'm very open to genre AUs—taking a banal, everyday setting and making it fantasy, or soul-mates, etc.—but extra love if you can manage to keep a period setting in the period. I'm not opposed to modern AUs, presuming they do something interesting with the characters beyond throwing them into a coffee shop and making them all spastic college students, but my heart is weak for period AUs of media set in modern times. I'm also a big fan of werewolves, shapeshifters, and other sort of fantasy/body horror tropes, especially with thoughtful world-building included.

I really like stories about people getting together for the first time, and double-bonus if they're figuring out their sexuality/identity as they go, whether that involves gender-play or BDSM or is a good old-fashioned vanilla "holy shit I'm gay" realization. I'm also very here for characters establishing queer communities and welcome ensemble casts of characters, both canon and original, to make that happen. I don't require gratuitous porn, but I'm definitely not opposed if porn is a thing you're really hankering to write, so long as a character's relationships outside of the bedroom see a little screentime, as well. If you're going that route, experienced characters showing characters who are new to things the ropes is a favorite trope, as is characters who are a little ashamed of what they want/can't admit what they want, but want it anyway.

Character studies are great, as is crack treated seriously, epistolary format, etc. I'm open to most fic stylings, though text chat fic has a tendency not to hold my attention for very long, so YMMV on that. And while I know that I wrote this letter from the perspective of fiction, these themes and tropes hold true for fanart and other forms of fanwork as well. If you have any questions and can get them to me in a way that doesn't compromise any anonymity requirements for whatever event we're participating in, I'm always happy to answer.

Thank you again, dear creator, and happy exchanging!
