THEY DID! I was really surprised, frankly, because I know all the weird monsterfucker hipsters (myself included) were like "yeeeaaah Kraken!" but I sincerely didn't expect anyone else to go for it, and here we are.
I would have been happy with any name as long as it wasn't, as Mucca said, racist or in otherwise poor appropriative taste. (I suppose one could make a technical argument that the Kraken is a mythology from a specific culture, but it still seems markedly less offensive than say, Totems.)
