Hello, Dreamwidth!

Shockingly, I am not dead! Rather, I've been bouncing around the country for awhile and hopping from job to job and have now settled happily back in Savannah, Georgia, which I have missed for a decade and longed to return to.

I'm back on DW again because roughly two weeks ago, the always delightful muccamukk made me watch a video recording of the National Theatre of Scotland's production of Kidnapped, and in possibly the least surprising news of all time it completely devoured my brain.

As such, I've thrown together some quick icons from a few of my favorite bits of the show. I'll have some more coming in the future, featuring other scenes and characters not included in the current batch, and am working on some fic as well because I have absolutely zero chill, but for now, please enjoy!

Icons are in no particular order, and I cannot be arsed to figure out the html to properly pad the table at the moment because it's super late, so please bear with me. Also, I've popped them behind a cut because there are definitely show spoilers involved.

32 is also my fave, for some reason, and also 58.

I'm taking a bit of a step back from Tumblr at the moment, so hoping to be around on DW a little bit more going forward.

I can understand the confusion, considering I've been away from it for a year or so outside of exchange/event letters and wasn't in the habit of regular use before then, lol.

Glad you like the icons and the journal title! I'll have more icons coming soon when I have the time to sit down and really comb through the recording, but these hit a few of the major beats that've been consuming my focus for the last few weeks.

And aah, what beautiful icons, thank you so much for sharing them! So many excellent Davie faces. I would definitely like to nab 18 and 60, to start with—and I'll spend a bit more time admiring all those shippy ones before deciding which I want, if that's OK. :)

It's lovely to meet you, too! Mucca shared your Jacobite website with me and I've been meaning to muster the courage to introduce myself.

The play has me totally enraptured already, and I just picked up a paperback of the book the other day, so I have a feeling it's only going to worse from here, lol.

I'm very glad you like the icons, and you're welcome to take all the time and consideration you need. If you have any specific requests, as well, feel free to let me know and I'll see what I can do!

I've got one fic actively on the go at the moment and two others in the wings that I'm doing some more in depth research for, so I hope to bump up the count on AO3 at least a little here in the relatively immediate future. I'll be sure to post about it when I do~

Oh, I'm pleased to hear you like the website.

Enjoy the book, it's great :D I've been a fan for a couple of years and was so happy when the play came along and turned out to be such a beautiful adaptation. I eagerly anticipate your fics! I am definitely going to write more fic, once I've finished the longfic (...for the book) that's currently in the 'final approach' editing stage. (Also Yuletide stuff; both book and play are in the Yuletide tagset, by the way, if that's of interest...)

In continuing adventures of WTF is going on with AO3 wrangling, why is the play in with "books and literature"?

XD I do not know. It can't be that the wrangler actually mistook it for the/a book, since the tag follows the standard formatting for theatre tags, not book tags. I haven't complained to Support about it, largely because it's such a hilarious and relatively harmless example of AO3's incompetence that I can't really be bothered. Though I suppose it does affect findability for any new play fans, so perhaps it is worth doing!

I just checked now, and it's in theatre! So support has supported. For once.

Oh, yay! I did ask the Yuletide mods to fix it in the tagset a few days ago—perhaps they poked Support about it.

Right, I have grabbed 15, 43, 70, 84 and 85. My icons list is looking amazing.

As for requests... I would love Jannet Clouston, if you'd like! I think she is my fave of the ensemble characters in the play :D

Hello!! Over the moon to find another Kidnapped fan! :D regshoe pointed me towards your journal and I'm so excited to see all your icons for the show! I love all the shippy Alan/Davie ones (naturally!), but there's so many good ones of the rest of the cast - including all the Jannet Clouston ones in your other icons post. I'll definitely be snaffling some, once I've decided which ones I like best. Bit spoiled for choice right now!

It's likewise lovely to meet you! I'm glad you like the icons. I'll probably have another batch out at some point, as I watch the play more regularly than is probably healthy and making icons is one of my favorite "I'm bored and don't know what to do" activities, lol. But yes, take your time and you're welcome to them whenever!

I'm definitely writing fic, and hope to have one posted fairly soon. The others are a lot longer and more self-indulgent as of right now, so we'll see if/when they see the light of day. I am doing a little Kidnapped mini-fic prompt thing to carry me through Yuletide, too, if you're at all interested!

Either way, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these ridiculous Scotsmen! xD
