Sunday Snippet
Because sometimes picking just six isn't quite enough for me, I'm re-imagining the Sunday Six as the Sunday Snippet. Here is one from my current garbage movie obsession, Cursed:
“I know high school wasn’t great for you,” Bo said, and Jimmy couldn’t help but snort. Bo grinned a little and ducked his head, flushing. “I know,” he amended, “that I, personally, didn’t make it great.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Jimmy sighed, because that was old news, and reached up to curl a hand around Bo’s neck, thumb tucked into the divot behind his ear. “Y’know, it wasn’t exactly a picnic for you, either, so. Just, let the record show, okay?”
“I was captain of the varsity wrestling team,” Bo protested, brow furrowing over his cocksure smirk. “They voted me Homecoming King junior year!”
“Yeah,” Jimmy agreed, tilting his head so their noses brushed, “and all that macho posturing left you so scared to come out of the closet that your dumb teenage crush almost coalesced into full-scale assault, remember?”
“Okay,” Bo scoffed, with a brisk, teasing kiss. “First of all, I don’t know that challenging you to a wrestling match counts as assault.” He kissed Jimmy again, breath warm and still faintly minty, murmuring against his mouth, “And second, if memory serves, you had crazy werewolf powers at the time, which you used to thoroughly humiliate me in front of half the school. So, if anyone was assaulting anyone - ” He raised his eyebrows and canted his head, letting his expression make the implication for him.
