Yuletide 2023 Dear Creator Letter

Firstly, thank you so much for participating in this year's Yuletide Exchange. It's a super fun one, and I hope that some of the prompts I've got for you this year speak loudly enough to offer good inspiration~

I'm Tec, better known by my handle ThrillingDetectiveTales, which is the same here on DW, on AO3, on Tumblr, and on Discord, should you or the moderators need to get in touch. I'll start it off with some general Yes Pleases and Do Not Wants and then break my requests down by fandom/pairing. (If all of this sounds familiar, it's because I've found it's most effective to recycle the letters I've written for other challenges rather than writing new ones every time I sign up for an event.)

*Dub-con, of the flavor where a character is unsure but willing to go with it, or like, sex-pollen/drunk/etc. variety is fine, so long as there's not explicit focus on someone feeling taken advantage of.

Alright! Now let’s get on the fandom specific requests, shall we? I’m pretty open to whatever at the end of the day, so long as enough legwork/worldbuilding/character development has been done to make me believe that a certain scenario would actually happen, so feel free to use the below as guidelines more than strict rules, with the caveat being that I really don't like modern AUs for any period media. AUs set in other time periods (ex: taking Kidnapped characters from mid-1700s Scotland and dropping them into 1970s Scotland) including magic or other tropes are fine, and if the media is a "modern day" franchise (ex: The Tick (2017), Cursed (2005)), you're welcome to leave it in that modern period.

Now here we go!

Kidnapped (NTS/McArthur & McCarthy & Stevenson)

David Balfour/Alan Breck Stewart: Honestly, I'll take whatever I can get for these two. I'm even cautiously open to a modern AU, so long as it retains the whimsy, angst, and romance of the play. Caveat that modern AUs are historically—ha!—not my faves, but if you wanted to do like, I don't know rock star!Alan and classical pianist!Davie or something, I would at least go with you on the journey. Things I would especially love to see with this pairing are:

- What it would look like if the ship to France wasn't scheduled to leave in ten minutes and Alan did wind up staying in Scotland for a little while
- What it would look like after Alan returns to Scotland in show canon (I know there are a few fic like this already in the tag but we could always use more!)
- Literally any of the more magical/whimsical AUs (soulmates, wing!fic, werewolves, vampires, high fantasy crossovers, whatever!)

The Tick (2017)

Arthur Everest/Superian: As of my last check (done while writing this letter), I'm the only person on AO3 who's ever written Arthur/Superian. I would love to not be the only person who's ever written Arthur/Superian. Any other characters are welcome, and I'm fine with whatever romantic pairings as long as there's no Arthur/Tick or Arthur/Superian/Tick. (I love the Tick, and his relationship with Arthur, I just vastly prefer them as platonic ride-or-dies than romantic partners.) Ideas I have for these guys include:

- E. Morgan Pearl becomes convinced that Arthur and Superian have a green card marriage, and they have to play it up for reasons. (Less focus on E. Morgan Pearl and more focus on fake dating/didn't know they were dating/etc preferred, bc E. Morgan Pearl is the worst kind of shitloaf.)
- Space soulmates!
- Superian keeps "saving" Arthur from peril, which he very much doesn't need thank you, and when Arthur calls him out on it, it turns out that's the only way he knows how to hit on people
- Idk y'all go wild!

Cursed (2005)

Bo/Jimmy Myers: Okay, Cursed (2005) is arguably my favorite horror movie of all time. It's so much fun and so ridiculous, and I think about the scene where Bo comes to Jimmy's house and confesses to him at least once a week. For these guys, I would love to see:

- Anything post-canon, especially where Jimmy and Brooke decide they're better as friends than together and Brooke high-key tries to get him and Bo together instead once she learns the truth
- There's a popular fan-theory that after Jimmy and Ellie bite/kill Jake, they become the alphas so the curse isn't actually cured (sometimes interpreted as Jimmy specifically being the alpha, so the curse is only cured for Ellie, idk whatever), but I think it would be fun if the curse didn't go away, so it becomes a ticking clock of Bo and Jimmy (and Brooke! please let her be friends with them, she deserves better than to be fridged) to try and solve the curse before Jimmy wolfs out again and ruins someone's life
- Bo gets bitten instead and can't control himself around Jimmy, who has to help him figure out what the fuck is going on
- Non-werewolf post-canon fic where Bo and Jimmy are together and come out and deal with the aftermath (the shitty friends, etc., but would prefer most people to be supportive)
